Wendy Overlee – Paralegal
My name is Wendy, and I am Attorney Brooks’ paralegal. I earned my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2012 but have been in the legal profession since 2001. You can find me in both the Yorktown and the Gloucester locations either notarizing or witnessing your documents. It has always been important to me to assist the local community with their legal needs.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy the beach, fishing, traveling, and working in my garden.
Julie Colander – Paralegal
My name is Julie and I have been Lisa Moore’s paralegal since 2015. I initially started my studies at Tidewater Community College, studying criminal justice, but changed my mind and pursued paralegal studies. I now support Attorney Moore’s general practice while also helping the firm out with Attorney Kahl and Attorney Brooks’ Medicaid matters. I really enjoy getting to know and help our clients.
When I am not in the office, I am a busy wife and mom of 4 beautiful children, 3 sons, and 1 daughter. My oldest son just graduated high school and has left home to explore the “grown up” world. My other boys are twins. They keep me very busy with their school/homework, extracurricular activities, karate, and love of video games. My daughter, the oldest of all, is in the US Air Force and just came back to the states after a tour in Japan.
Breanna Brosemer – Paralegal
My name is Breanna, but everyone calls me Bre. I received my Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Thomas Nelson Community College in 2016. Prior to joining The Heritage Law Group, my specialty was criminal defense; it’s a far cry different than Estate Planning! I left the legal field for a brief time but returned, as helping people with legal matters is truly my passion.
I primarily support the attorneys in their estate planning matters but I also help out wherever I’m needed. You’ll often see me both at the Gloucester office as well as the York office, notarizing your documents.
In my off-time, I enjoy camping and fishing with my daughter, traveling, and FOOD! I love trying new restaurants and consider myself a fairly decent cook, so I’m constantly experimenting with recipes or helping my daughter with her baking.
Bonnie Elliott – Paralegal
I have always had a soft heart for the elderly. I feel they have a lot of wisdom they can teach you if you listen. Working at THLG has been an eye-opener for me. It is a subject most people would like to ignore but honestly getting older is something that needs to be discussed and prepared for. The people who work here care for their clients very much and will be with them throughout the whole process.
When I’m not in the office you will find me doing real estate closings, leading a group at WEC, spending time with my kids, family and friends, or somewhere in the sun with a good book.
Kelly Young, CP – Business Manager
Unless I am witnessing a signing for you, you may never see me, but it is my job to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible during your time with us. I manage all non-law aspects of the firm and tend to stay back in my office.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in History degree from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Historic Preservation degree from the University of Georgia. I also have two Career Certificates in Administrative Support Technology from Thomas Nelson Community College and am a NALA Certified Paralegal. I love to learn and often take a class or two for fun. Yes, I am a nerd!
I have worked in many different fields and was a litigation paralegal for three years before arriving at The Heritage Law Group. I love working for THLG because we offer a truly needed service and the work atmosphere is warm and friendly.
Missy Reynolds – Client Support Representative
I have had the pleasure of working at The Heritage Law Group since July 2020. In my free time, I enjoy reading, sitting outside enjoying the Sunshine, and spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I are from upstate New York and are new to Virginia. I must say that everyone here at The Heritage Law Group has made my “new life” very warm and welcoming.
My role with The Heritage Law Group is to efficiently coordinate appointments and communications between our clients, attorneys, and staff. I ensure that you obtain an appointment that fits your needs, whether that appointment is in person, over the phone, or by Zoom. I am proud to be a part of The Heritage Law Group, because the staff and attorneys truly care about their clients and provide professional guidance, passion, comfort, and humor at their appointments.
Please give The Heritage Law Group a call today and hopefully, I get to speak to you soon!
Kim Hines – Receptionist
Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Kim Hines, and I’m probably the first person you will see when you enter our Yorktown office as I am known as the receptionist. I am here to meet, greet and welcome you to the best elder care law firm in Virginia. I am a transplant on the Peninsula having lived and worked for many years in the real estate title industry on the southside. I am the proud mother of 2 adult children and doting grandmother of 4 grandchildren, hence the reason for my move to the Peninsula. I am truly blessed to have become a part of the team here at The Heritage Law Group.
