Agata Przekop – Paralegal

I am a foreign-educated lawyer from Poland. I moved to Virginia in 2014 and obtained a Master of Laws degree at the William and Mary Law School. While pursuing my degree, I worked at the Elder & Disability Law Clinic where I developed a practical knowledge of the legal issues affecting seniors.

In 2017 I became a mother of twin girls and was a stay home parent until I re-entered the workforce and proudly joined the Heritage Law Group. In my everyday duties, I work closely with Attorney Brooks to provide the best legal service to our fiduciary clients. I also assist our clients in Guardianship/Conservatorship proceedings and estate planning matters.

Before my daughters were born, I liked to spend my free time reading old fashioned crime novels, especially those written by Agatha Christie, and in the outdoors. I always loved to travel, my hiking boots have dust from Hawaii, Alaska, continental US, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. I also enjoy flying small planes with my husband at the controls.

Jennifer (Jen) Sweeney – Paralegal

My name is Jennifer, but everyone calls me Jen. Having grown up in a military family, I am blessed to have lived most of my life in Yorktown, and because of that, I feel deeply connected to this community. It brings me the greatest joy to work at The Heritage Law Group and have the privilege to help the those in need. My primary role at the firm is as Attorney Jennifer Kahl’s Paralegal.

I graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Art & Visual Technology with a minor in Events Management. My initial goal was to get my masters in Library Science and work as a museum archivist. However, I made the decision to stay in Hampton Roads and be a caregiver to my mother who was battling breast cancer. During my time as a caregiver, I pursued a career in administration. I am proud to be a graduate from Thomas Nelson Community College with an associate degree in Administrative Support Technology. I enjoy being able to use my skills, abilities, and creative perspective to solve problems and design new ways of conveying and organizing information.

Samantha Spear – Paralegal

I am the Long-Term Care paralegal for The Heritage Law Group. I carry the big blue binders, a coffee cup, and a smile. I routinely work at all three offices. I take pride working diligently to provide our clients the best long-term plan possible. I am also Attorney Jean’s paralegal so you may also speak to me regarding her non-long-term care practice areas. I step in to help wherever I am needed!

I have lived in Virginia for about 7 years, and I can finally say it feels like home. I was born and raised in San Diego, California.  I am currently enrolled in the Paralegal Studies program at Liberty University (almost done!). I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I like to run in my free time, specifically at the beach. I’m a mom to 3 boys. They keep me on my toes every day!

Kelly Young, CP – Business Manager

Unless I am witnessing a signing for you, you may never see me, but it is my job to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible during your time with us. I manage all non-law aspects of the firm and tend to stay back in my office.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in History degree from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Historic Preservation degree from the University of Georgia. I also have two Career Certificates in Administrative Support Technology from Thomas Nelson Community College and am a NALA Certified Paralegal. I love to learn and often take a class or two for fun. Yes, I am a nerd!

I have worked in many different fields and was a litigation paralegal for three years before arriving at The Heritage Law Group. I love working for THLG because we offer a truly needed service and the work atmosphere is warm and friendly.

Missy Reynolds – Client Support Representative

I have had the pleasure of working at The Heritage Law Group since July 2020. In my free time I enjoy reading, sitting outside enjoying the Sunshine, and spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I are from upstate New York and are new to Virginia. I must say that everyone here at The Heritage Law Group has made my “new life” very warm and welcoming.

My role with The Heritage Law Group is to efficiently coordinate appointments and communications between our clients, attorneys, and staff. I ensure that you obtain an appointment that fits your needs, whether that appointment is in person, over the phone, or by Zoom. I am proud to be a part of The Heritage Law Group, because the staff and attorneys truly care about their clients and provide professional guidance, passion, comfort, and humor at their appointments.

Please give The Heritage Law Group a call today and hopefully I get to speak to you soon!

Kylee Wise – Legal Assistant

I am often the first person you will see when you come through our door. I am thrilled to be the Estate Planning Legal Assistant for Attorney Jennifer Kahl, Attorney Robert Brooks, and Attorney Susan Jean here at The Heritage Law Group. I work directly with you and our Attorneys to make sure everything is arranged and precise.

I’ve only lived in Virginia for 4 years, as I come from a military family. I happily volunteered for the FRG (Family Readiness Group) program for the United States Army at a young age and participated in a program for helping new students from military families integrate into social activities. I took my school’s Business Academy program in Tennessee, and I’m a performing arts nerd.  I have spent the last couple years working in the restaurant industry as a server, and this has given me an amazing skill set to ensure you an uplifting experience at our firm. I am more than happy to help; just give us a call!
