About
Welcome to The Heritage Law Group. With over thirty years of combined experience, we proudly serve the Virginia Peninsula, the Middle Peninsula, and Williamsburg. Our goal is to protect the personal and financial relationships that support your family. This includes preparation for times when you may be incapacitated and making arrangements for your family in the event of your death.
Why Choose Us?
There are many law firms in the area that could help you write a Will. However, The Heritage Law Group sits apart from the others because we combine traditional Estate Planning (your Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, etc.) with the related areas of Elder Law, Medicaid Planning, and Estate Administration. This results in a more comprehensive and wholistic approach to your plan. Our experience in these areas helps us anticipate and plan for various contingencies that other attorneys may not consider.
Why these areas?
Estate Planning
Estate Planning includes the preparation of documents such as a Will, a Trust, a Power of Attorney, or Advanced Medical Directives. It may also include planning for loved ones with disabilities or other special needs.
Elder Law and Medicaid
Long Term Care planning helps you financially prepare for the cost of your care as you age. This may include strategies to preserve your assets or help applying for Medicaid.
Guardianships and Conservatorships
A court-appointed Guardianship or Conservatorship may be necessary if your loved one lacks the mental capacity to execute Estate Planning Documents. It may also be necessary if your loved one is a threat to himself or others.
Fiduciary Services
In some situations, The Heritage Law Group can serve as your Executor, Trustee, or Agent. This may be advisable if you do not have any family or friends available to serve in those capacities.
Estate Administration and Probate
Estate Administration is the process you go through when you have been appointed as an Executor, Administrator, Conservator, Trustee, or Agent under Power of Attorney.
